Navigating with the sidebar

In Docubird, you work with all Microsoft 365 files in one central location - without having to switch between apps. Whether you work from the browser, Outlook or Office, Docubird always shows the same locations. In this article, you'll learn how to recognize the different file locations and what each item in the side panel means.

All Microsoft 365 file locations in one place

All Microsoft files stored in the cloud are conveniently grouped together in Docubird. Go to app.docubird.com or open the side panel in Outlook or Office to view the overview.

What you can find in the side panel

Docubird automatically displays the locations you have access to within Teams and SharePoint. In the side panel, you'll see the following items:

  • Suggestions (Outlook only)

Docubird recognizes the sender of an e-mail and suggests where to save the e-mail and attachments.

  • Pinned

Your personal favorites. These are locations you have pinned yourself for quick access.

  • Recent

A listing of the locations you have recently opened in Docubird.

  • Share
  • Files shared by you or with you, such as through a 1-on-1 conversation in Teams.
  • Microsoft 365 locations
    • SharePoint

All SharePoint sites you have access to.

    • Teams

The Teams environments you've been added to. Behind each team is a linked SharePoint site - it is shown in Docubird with the Teams icon.

    • OneDrive

Your personal files from OneDrive, visible only to you.

    • Exchange (in the app only)

A viewer of your (shared) mailbox. Allows you to store multiple emails and attachments in bulk.

  • Tasks

An overview of tasks assigned to you via approval flows (Microsoft Approvals) or project boards (SharePoint Tasks).

Settings the same everywhere

Docubird always shows the same data in the browser and within add-ins. Fixed locations are automatically synchronized and remain visible after refreshing the page.

In many cases, you can open the appropriate environment by opening the navigation menu further and selecting the appropriate site. If your organization has many sites, filtering may be useful. Click on the desired Microsoft 365 site type ( SharePoint, for example) and then perform a search by name to find the correct site more quickly.
